With cosy seating and a beautiful view of the lake and woodlands, it’s an ideal space to start your day, relax with a book, or catch up with friends. Our lounge also connects to a spacious outdoor patio, where you can enjoy the calm surroundings.
Our reception area is more than a check-in spot; it’s a warm, inviting place to meet, connect, or simply relax by the open fire. Located next to our coffee lounge and juice bar, this large, scenic patio is open for all guests to enjoy. Overlooking the beautiful landscape, it’s perfect for a peaceful moment or social gathering with loved ones.
Embrace the outdoors with our two firepits, available for guest use at any time. Firewood can be conveniently purchased at the reception, so you can enjoy a warm evening under the stars with friends or family.

With a gym open to all guests and four woodland trails for those who love to explore, staying active is easy and enjoyable. For younger guests, our woodland play areas provide a natural space to climb, explore, and play safely. Additionally, garden games are available for free hire, offering family-friendly fun for everyone to enjoy in the fresh outdoor air.

Our fully equipped gym is open to all guests and offers a selection of cardio and strength-training equipment to suit every fitness level. Perfect for maintaining your routine or trying something new during your stay.
For our younger guests, we offer specially designed woodland play areas that invite exploration, creativity, and adventure. With natural elements for climbing, balancing, and imaginative play, these areas are a safe and engaging way for children to experience the outdoors.
Nestled within Hay’s Wood Retreat is a fascinating piece of history: our 19th-century ice house. Once used to store ice before modern refrigeration, this historic structure has been preserved as a reminder of a simpler era. Accessible to guests, it offers a unique glimpse into traditional storage methods and stands as a testament to the craftsmanship of the time.

Our events centre, available for dry hire, features three versatile event rooms, each able to accommodate various needs, from small meetings to large celebrations. Whether you’re planning a conference, a church retreat, or a wedding, our events centre offers adaptable spaces for memorable gatherings.
Located in Hay’s Wood Hall, our media centre is equipped with AV technology to support meetings, presentations, and other events. This dedicated space provides everything needed for a smooth, successful event experience.
For catered events, our large commercial kitchen and serveries are available to support catering teams and private chefs. Designed for seamless service, this kitchen setup ensures that every meal, whether large or small, is handled with ease and efficiency.

Put the Treat in Retreat

Unwind in the ultimate comfort with our lodges that feature private hot tubs, offering a soothing escape surrounded by nature. Perfect for a serene evening, these lodges provide a luxurious way to end your day in peace and relaxation. For an extra treat, guests can also hire saunas from an outside company or book a professional photoshoot on-site to capture special memories. Please note that both options must be arranged ahead of your stay at an additional cost.

Experience the ultimate retreat in our lakeside luxury lodges, each featuring a private hot tub overlooking serene waters. These lodges provide a tranquil, high-end escape with beautiful views and a sense of seclusion. Relax and unwind with nature right outside your door, making every moment a peaceful getaway.
Wander through our peaceful animal walkthrough and say hello to our alpacas, goats, and sheep. It’s a lovely way to connect with nature and enjoy the company of some friendly faces. Animal feed is available to buy from reception—perfect for little hands to share a treat or two! Please note: our Highland cows live elsewhere on the retreat and are not part of this walkthrough.
