House Keeper - Maternity Cover
Housekeeper - Maternity Cover for one year
Pay - National Minimum Wage
Hours - Shifts mostly include weekdays, but could cover any day of the week including Saturdays and Sundays and evenings.
About the role
Hay’s Wood Retreat is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the team on a one-year maternity cover contract. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards our guests expect, ensuring each lodge and shared space is clean, welcoming, and ready for arrival.
Responsibilities will include
- Following a full and detailed cleaning schedule for each holiday lodge, changing bed laundry and all typical cleaning jobs.
- Regular shifts within our event centre/reception centre, which holds conference spaces, a catering kitchen and restrooms.
- Initially, you’ll be buddied up with a colleague and they’ll be on hand to answer any questions or assist with housekeeping issues as they arise and once you are confident you will be cleaning the accommodation on your own.
Full training will be provided for this role.
Skills & Experience
- A keen eye for detail and awareness of general standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Good communication skills and the confidence to engage with both colleagues and guests
- Able to work in a physically challenging, deadline-driven environment
- Desirable requirements:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role would be beneficial however full training will be provided
- Driving licence an advantage but not essential
