Building a future at Hay's Wood Retreat

We will be carrying out essential tarmacking works on the roads at Hay’s Wood Retreat from 16th to 20th June.

These improvements are part of our ongoing efforts to make the retreat more accessible for all guests.

During this period, please be aware of:

• Increased noise from machinery and construction
• Dust and debris in some areas
• Work vehicles and teams moving around the retreat

While we will do our best to minimise disruption, we kindly ask all guests to take extra care when moving around the site.

Our two woodland play areas, are delightful spaces designed to foster exploration and creativity among children. Nestled in the woodlands, these play areas are integrated seamlessly with their natural surroundings, featuring play structures made from sustainable materials. Currently undergoing an exciting expansion, these two new areas will soon offer even more opportunities for adventure, including additional climbing structures and interactive elements. Our aim is to enhance active play, imaginative thinking, and a deeper connection to nature, making it an ever-evolving favourite for families and young adventurers.

Accessibility is at the heart of Hay's Wood Retreat. While our existing lodges are designed to be accessible and comfortable, we're excited to add three new lodges equipped with enhanced accessibility features. These lodges will include extras such as hoist support, additional sockets, and wider doorways for improved mobility. We’re also incorporating specially designed bathrooms, kitchens, and thoughtful layouts to accommodate guests who require more tailored support, along with their carers. Our goal is to make every aspect of your stay as comfortable, convenient, and barrier-free as possible.

By popular request, we’re expanding our selection of lodges to include more accommodations with private hot tubs. These new lodges are being designed to provide an even more relaxing retreat, with outdoor spaces where guests can soak in a private hot tub surrounded by the natural serenity of Hay's Wood. Each lodge will maintain the cosy, open-plan design our guests love, adding just that extra touch of luxury to complete a perfect getaway.
